I also added a 5amp in-line fuse. When I turn the key on, I got power to the heated shield plug-in, but when I start the bike, it blows the 5amp fuse. I tried 3 different 5amp fuses and it blew ... (I just close the helmet on the tip of my glove then pull my glove out, for consistency) This is with a breath deflector. You can also try what I'm using to prevent fogging.
