The Stormcloaks re-took the Rift, however, and I have to regain it. The problem is, when I try to start the Riften siege quest, Legate ... Web(aware those things have been buggy for 10 years but i'd prefer to avoid using a mod for that) So far it seems the items i put in them stay in place however the cases open by themselves most times i reset the cells (after fast travels). Is that problem specific to lakeview manor (i've seen a similar post somewhere) or are all heartfire houses doomed ?
