The directive requires environmentally friendly materials to be used for packaging and labelling of packing to clear the way for recycling. WebbThe Directive (EU) 2015/720 (the Plastic Bags Directive) amends the Packaging and Packaging Waste Directive and requires Member States to take action to address the unsustainable consumption and use of lightweight plastic carrier bags. Such measures might include taxes or charges, reduction targets or outright bans.
